NCIDQ Examination Registration Information

For More Information

Online registration begins about three months before the upcoming exam date (January/February for the spring exam and July/August for the fall exam). Once we approve your application, we'll send you e-mail notifications explaining when and how to register and the deadline for completing your registration. To receive these important notifications, please make sure your e-mail address is current in your MyNCIDQ Account. (CIDQ is not responsible for misdirected or unopened e-mail.)

Once we've processed your registration form and payment, you'll receive an email confirmation. Your registration is not considered complete until we've processed your payment. Therefore, if you pay by check, please allow enough time for CIDQ to receive and process it. If you miss the initial Practicum registration deadline, you may register by the late registration deadline for a fee of $ 170 (U.S.). After the late deadline, we cannot add or change Practicum registrations. View the Exam Dates & Deadlines Schedule for current registration deadlines.

After you register, you'll receive an e-mail admission ticket providing additional exam information and instructions. The admission ticket will confirm your registration for the exam. Exact location details and directions will be posted to the website at least three weeks before the exam date. At the exam center, you must present your admission ticket and a government-issued photo ID (driver’s license, passport, etc.) to be admitted for the exam.

10 Exam Window Time Limit FOR EXAM COMPLETION

To become certified, you must complete and pass all three sections within a 10 exam window. If you passed any exam sections in 2009 or earlier, you must complete all three exam sections by the end of 2014. If you started taking the exam in 2010 or later, you must attempt at least one section of the exam within five years of being approved. Scores older than five years are voided and you'll have to retake these sections.
