NCIDQ Examination: Basic Facts
CIDQ updates the NCIDQ Exam on a regular basis so it's current with the latest knowledge in the field. The three-part exam covers all aspects of interior design practice that affect public health, life safety and welfare.
The three sections are:
- IDFX: Interior Design Fundamentals Exam: 100 multiple-choice questions designed to assess your knowledge of building systems, construction standards and design application.
- IDPX: Interior Design Professional Exam: 150 multiple-choice questions that assess your knowledge of building systems, codes, professional practice and project coordination.
- PRAC: Interior Design Practicum: A full-day exam that includes seven unique exercises that focus on space planning, lighting design, egress, life safety, restroom (washroom) design, systems integration and millwork.
